Lawn Care Standards

Crews: Crews will be dressed in a uniform at all times and will act in a professional manner while conducting business and make every attempt to be attentive to the needs and the requests of customers.

Lawn Maintenance: Your lawn will be cut evenly to the proper height, trimming will be done in areas that the mower cannot reach, around obstacles and along edges of walks, drives, etc. The trimming will be done in order to accent the mowing job. Areas adjacent to the lawn area will be free of any grass clippings upon completion.

Lawn Fertilizer: Integrated pest management is used to make decision regarding fertilization and pesticide application. If there is no need for pesticides, none will be used. 1 to 5 applications of granular slow release fertilizer are applied per year depending on the individual need of the lawn. Liquid weed control is applied only as necessary to rid the lawn of unwanted weeds. A fertilization program with out pesticides is available. The fertilizer application will be properly timed with the lawn maintenance program so that a freshly fertilized lawn is not mowed over.

Lawn Edging: Mechanical edging cuts turf at the edge of concrete adjacent to lawn areas. The edge is left debris free and when necessary debris is hauled away.

Core Aeration: Core aeration is done to relieve compacted soil, establish root growth and provides a conduit for water, air and nutrient to reach the root zone. When a core aeration is complete the lawn will be a covered in thumb size plug of dirt and sod. They will break down over time. Very hilly areas may not be possible to do. After a core aeration is a good time to over-seed.

Spring and Fall Clean-ups: This work is charged by the hour, crews will efficiently rid the property of leaves and other yard debris. Crews will use a combination of rakes, blowers and other equipment to accomplish the work. In the springtime the debris is hauled away. In the fall effort with the city schedule (Ann Arbor residents)
